While this is not an Extreme Makeover, we have managed a little nip and tuck to the way our Gift Certificates and Packages look to your clients.
For several years we have offered an additional service with Full Slate whereby you can create and sell gift certificates and packages. More on that feature can be found via our Help Center
While this is a great feature, we know that it was due for a bit of an upgrade, so we have added some changes to make them more visually appealing.
So what has changed?
Here is the what our certificates have looked like.
And this the new version
Starting today, your logo will now appear on the certificate. This is the logo featured in your company settings found via Setup > Company Details. Your company name will appear beneath the logo. Information about your Landing Page address, the redemption code, and the expiration dates will appear on the black bar.
A few other tweaks were made so that the vouchers look more streamlined than before. Another change was to limit the characters used in the description of the product and the length of your title of services. A character-counter was added, so when you are creating these items, the system will let you know how many characters you have left.
We are still hard at work on making this feature even better but we hope that you enjoy this improvement. If you have any questions about these updates or would like some help setting up this feature, please feel free to Contact Us at Full Slate Support.
With the holidays right around the corner, now is the perfect time to sell gifts & packages to your clients and their loved ones. Gift certificates and packages are a great way to create extra revenue around the holiday time, plus they act as a built-in referral program!
You can add the gifts & packages you want to sell under Setup > Gifts & Packages. To enable clients to buy them online with a credit card, make sure you have client payments setup. Then they’ll be able to purchase gift certificates and packages right on your Full Slate landing page, your Facebook page, and your website.
Full Slate’s standard website widget includes a section titled ‘Packages and Gift Certificates’ below your list of services. If you prefer, you can create a dedicated webpage that just displays your gifts and packages. To get the code for that widget, go to Web > Widget and choose ‘Gift certificates & packages’ from the Widget Type drop-down.
The Gifts & Packages add-on costs $5/mo, but you can try the feature for free for 30 days to see if it is a good fit for your business. Full Slate does not charge any additional fees per order, and clients will continue to be able to redeem gift certificates sold through Full Slate even if you stop selling them (and stop paying for the add-on).
Answer to many common questions about this feature are here. There’s even a video tutorial you can watch!
You can now set an expiration date and include other terms on a gift certificate or package. These appear in fine print right on the face of the voucher so your client is sure to see the details.
Since many states in the U.S. prohibit gift cards from expiring, the default is “never.” However, you can change it to expire on a specific date (i.e., December 31, 2015) or a certain number of days after purchase, (i.e., 5 years from today) under Setup > Gift Certificates & Packages. You can also manually set the expiration date for individual vouchers on the Sales tab.
This expiration date is included on the voucher when it’s printed out or emailed to a recipient. You can also add other terms – like redemption instructions, any exclusions or other limitations – to the fine print. (We know you want to be able to add your logo and customize the certificate too – we’ll get to that soon.)
Once a voucher has expired, it can no longer be redeemed online. You can still accept it if you wish; simply check the box to include expired codes on the Sales tab then adjust the balance or extend the deadline on a one-off basis.
You can now sell packages online using Full Slate! Give clients a discount for buying multiple services in advance and then track usage against each purchased package.
Clients can buy packages on your landing page, website or Facebook page. They can even buy one as a gift and email the package voucher to the recipient.
To set up packages, go to Setup > Gifts & Packages and click ‘Add package’. Give the package a name, assign a service to it, and set the price and number of services. If you haven’t already, enable client payments under Setup > Client Payments; you can still sell packages on your landing page even if you don’t want clients to be able to pay for appointments at the time of booking.
A redemption code is issued with each package, which clients can enter when booking online; this automatically reduces the number of appointments left on the package. Also, under the Sales tab, you can create new package vouchers and decrement the number of services left on a package.
Usage on each package is tracked under the Sales tab, as well as under each client record under Clients > Details so you’ll always know how many services are left on each package.
Please note that packages are part of Gifts & Packages (along with Gift Certificates), which costs $5/mo, but you can try Gifts & Packages free for 30 days. Even if you drop the Gifts & Packages add-on and stop selling certificates and packages through Full Slate, you will still be able to use the Sales tab to redeem any outstanding vouchers.
