Updates to Authorize.net

Authorize.net has made security improvements to the way they accept payments!

You will have a window, from 03/21/2018 to 04/06/2018, to ensure uninterrupted client payments. If you happen to miss the window, no worries. You will still be able to accept client payments – just make sure to follow these steps as soon as possible:

1. Log in to Authorize.net.

2. Click the “Settings” link under the “Account” section.

3. On the Settings page, click the “Manage Public Client Key” link under the General Security Settings section.

4. Enter your Secret Answer to the Secret Question and click Submit button to create a new client key.

Note: If you need to reset your Secret Answer, please refer to this help page:
https://support.authorize.net/authkb/index?page=content&id=A524&actp=LIST

5. Select and copy the newly created client key.

6. Sign into the Full Slate app.

7. Navigate to the Setup -> Client Payments tab.

8. Paste your client key to the “Client Key” text box and click Save.

Our Gift Certificates and Packages are getting a little facelift!

While this is not an Extreme Makeover, we have managed a little nip and tuck to the way our Gift Certificates and Packages look to your clients.

For several years we have offered an additional service with Full Slate whereby you can create and sell gift certificates and packages. More on that feature can be found via our Help Center

While this is a great feature, we know that it was due for a bit of an upgrade, so we have added some changes to make them more visually appealing.

So what has changed?

Here is the what our certificates have looked like.

Click to download printout

And this the new version

Starting today, your logo will now appear on the certificate.  This is the logo featured in your company settings found via Setup >  Company Details.  Your company name will appear beneath the logo.  Information about your Landing Page address, the redemption code, and the expiration dates will appear on the black bar.

A few other tweaks were made so that the vouchers look more streamlined than before.  Another change was to limit the characters used in the description of the product and the length of your title of services.  A character-counter was added, so when you are creating these items, the system will let you know how many characters you have left.

We are still hard at work on making this feature even better but we hope that you enjoy this improvement.  If you have any questions about these updates or would like some help setting up this feature, please feel free to Contact Us at Full Slate Support.

Full Slate Partners with Google on Pilot Launch of Reserve with Google

Now Full Slate users in LA, NYC, and SF can accept client appointments directly from Google Search and Google Maps

Full Slate, the online appointment scheduling company for local businesses, today announced that it is an initial partner on the pilot launch of Reserve with Google.

As announced by Google this morning, Reserve with Google launches today as a limited pilot in three regions: Los Angeles, New York City, and the San Francisco Bay Area. As a result of today’s announced partnership, Full Slate merchants in these regions are now immediately able to accept appointments booked by Google users directly from Google Search and Google Maps.

“Full Slate’s mission is to help local businesses grow, and this exciting partnership with Google provides our merchants in the pilot regions with a very efficient new customer acquisition channel,” said John Nebergall, General Manager of Full Slate. “Accepting appointments directly from Google removes the need for a customer to leave search engine results pages, which we think will lead to increased bookings and more customers for Full Slate merchants.”

Reserve with Google functionality is being offered at no additional charge to Full Slate merchants in the program’s pilot regions. Full Slate plans to offer the functionality to merchants in additional geographies as the Reserve with Google pilot expands.

Introducing Checkout– Bookkeeping’s New Best Friend

Now you can checkout customers and easily keep track of payments for appointments in QuickBooks Online. All the details from your appointment book — like who came in when, what services were rendered and how the client paid — flow from Full Slate into QuickBooks with the click of a button. After an appointment, you can take and record payment with the choice to email or print a receipt for your client. Add a tip, apply sales tax, even give a discount to your favorite clients, we’ll do all the math.

If you have enabled Client Payments and take deposits or payments online, those transactions also automatically sync to QuickBooks. You’ll continue to see price and amount paid by the client online in appointment details, and when you check out after the appointment, it will automatically apply the deposit and calculate the balance due.

Bonus – if you’ve configured a credit card processor for client payments, you’ll be able to charge a card during checkout.

If you haven’t setup client payments or prefer to use another merchant service or external POS, you can still record the payment without actually charging the card in Full Slate. To check out this new feature, go to your “Schedule” tab in Full Slate, open an existing appointment, and click the register icon.

At this time, you must have a QuickBooks Online account and have the QuickBooks sync turned on within your Full Slate account to use the checkout feature. If you have a QuickBooks account but have not set up sync, simply go to Setup > QuickBooks Sync and click the “Connect to QuickBooks” button.

If you do not have a QuickBooks account, click HERE to learn more and set up a free 30-day trial.

For many common questions on the new “Checkout” feature, please take a look at our Help Center. If you have any additional questions or trouble, feel free to reach out to support by clicking on the “Support” link in your Full Slate account. We’re happy to help!
